25 Reviews For This Extension
I have had this extension installed for over a year. Today it went HAYWIRE and just turned on for EVERYTHING. I was losing my mind becuase all of the sudden everything stopped working, and I could not enable javascript. After about 30 minutes of troubleshooting I started disabling extensions and found out that this was the culprit. before would have given this 5 stars. but, not reason for this to just turn it self on for ever thing vs a single site
Updated version is broken. Now it's just a global javascript toggle that disables it for all websites at once instead of previous version saving your preferences PER website. What a massive downgrade.
Why does it need access to my geolocation, camera, and microphone?!
Works when it sees fit to access a page, but often doesn't think it needs access to a page that has javascript running. I guess I'll go back to hitting F12 in Chrome and turning off java in the settings ?
A simple but extremely useful extension for a non-techie like myself who simply wants to quickly disable JS on specific sites where having it active causes noticeable slowdown and, thus, aggravation, particularly when other solutions would not be sufficient (disenabling/enabling adblocking, disabling active scripts, etc). Would a whitelist be ideal? Absolutely. But even without one it's been a godsend.
I love it!! Perfect and easy to use
This extension seems to work for me, but it only gets a three-star review because it's got a double-negative in it, which, as a programmer, drives me nuts. Basically, when the extension is off, it denotes NOT NOT javascript. This is a BASIC guideline in any programming, to not do double-negatives, and it's true in ALL kinds of ways, such as variable naming, and, particularly, user interface. He/she clearly should have made the switch denote OFF=JS_off, and ON=JS_on (and it's backwards from this). To me, this suggests that this isn't a seasoned programmer who did this.
Also needed as a-hole webmasters decide to lock the scroll bar, it's annoying having to go into a sites settings and disable JavaScript for each site that does this. No bookmarking or sharing for them from me! Jerks!
Works for what I need it for - to identify problems on a site by disabling JS. People have complained that it disables JS globally - but I don't think "site by site" is what this is aiming for. Its a "toggle it off to test" thing. Its for when you need to see how something works without JS if JS is causing it to fall over. You toggle it off - see what it's doing then when finished toggle it back on again. For THAT it works as it says on the tin. For a "turn JS off for this site" - its a different product that's needed - this doesnt do this but I don't think it claims it does either.
Disables JS for ALL sites (domains), not just the one you're currently on. This could easily be solved by maintaining a list/database of domains for which the user wants JS disabled, and only activating for those domains. As it is, this extension is basically pointless.
Works well so far, but why is the toggle indicator so small? Poor usability. Need to practically squint to see it.
fire tool
⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️ BEWARE! ONLY GLOBALLY ENABLES AND DISABLED JS ON ALL TABS! CANNOT SET DOMAINS TO BLOCK OR ALLOW! ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️
Add ability to enable or disable JS on certain sites via the right click context menu
i am user number 100,000
This tool is really good to one click disable js. other extensions had some issues like <noscript> not parsing.
it is not works like the chrome debugger "disable javascript" feature therefore it is not the best for development purposes. the only thing it should do is to trigger this function in chrome but it is working a different way.
Works very well and is much easier than going to site permissions manually, would reccomend to anyone

ShOcK & AWE outstanding... not only does it disable the Krap in ~90% of the web pages, it remembers your previous web pages choices. You don't have to keep turning it ON or OFF... When you leave a know bad/AD page it turns off. Go back, it turns ON. It remembers past settings. The only pages (~10%) that it can't control are the sites that don't use Java, I'm guessing. But for most, it's pure heaven. Thank you Toggle Java. You RoCk. The check is in the mail.
Installed, worked great. Now clicking it to turn off JS, nothing happens. Found that disabling and re-enabling brings back toggling.
Couldn't be more simple. For a few years, I had the disable javascript tab bookmarked in my tabs page to get to is easily. This was still a little annoying as it took a solid 5 SECONDS to disable and refresh the page. Now I can instantly disable and refresh at the same time without opening any more tabs
Very very good extension for me!!! Thanks a lot!
works great. please consider to improve the extension my changing the enabled color in the icon from dark green to light green so that it is easier to see that java script is enabled. the current red color for the java script is disabled is easy to see.
Excellent! Simple but effective.
